Course Descriptions

Medical Training

  • Heartsaver CPR Adult & Pediatric
    Students will learn about the 911 system, how to recognize and treat strokes, angina, heart attack, respiratory and cardiac arrest. Students will learn the techniques of CPR and the treatment for choking patients. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a two-year certificate from the American Heart Association (AHA). 4 to 6 hour course. We also offer recertification in CPR.
    Cost: $40 per student
     

  • Heartsaver CPR / AED
    This course provides students with the knowledge to perform CPR and airway management. Students will learn how to properly and safely use AED equipment. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a two-year certificate from the American Heart Association (AHA). 4 hour course.

  • First Aid Program
    This course meets the national standards for the delivery of Basic First Aid.  Students will learn to perform primary and secondary patient surveys, monitor vital signs, patient management and care, and basic first aid for medical and trauma emergencies.  Students will receive a two-year certificate.  4 hour course.
    Cost: $40 per student

     

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Precaution Course
    This course meets the standard set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  Students will learn about contaminated items and equipment and how to handle an exposure incident.  Students will review an Exposure Control Plan and OSHA bloodborne pathogen regulations.  Students will receive a certificate of course completion.  3 hour course.
    Cost: $300 per course
     

  • Emergency Oxygen Course
    Students will learn how to effectively use emergency oxygen and corresponding supplies.  Students will learn when and how to apply oxygen to patients during medical and trauma emergencies.  Prerequisite for training:  Agency must be have a portable oxygen cylinder on site and be able to deliver oxygen.  3 hour course.
    Cost: $300 per course

Safety Consulting

  • Safety Audit
    An evaluation will be conducted on the property of the business to ensure that federal, state and local laws are being addressed and that fire and life safety laws being enforced.  The business is measured on the risk of injury to employees and/or customers.  A final safety audit report will be developed and will address operational concerns and policies procedures.  Recommendation on how to improve safe operations and comply with laws will be provided.

Staff Development Training

  • Leadership Improvement Training
    Why are good supervisors and leaders a scarce commodity in the business world today?  We will address that question and others regarding how to improve the one’s current leadership skills and/or develop new leadership skills.  We will discuss the top mistakes that business leaders and supervisors make in decision making.  Students will learn how to transform mistakes into opportunities.  Skills will be enhanced in communications, decision making, delegating, employee behaviors and planning skills.   7 to 8 hour class.

  • Guest Services Training
    How can we make our business the best it can be?  What makes customers keep coming back?  Students will learn the service essentials of customer service and to make their business ‘stand out’ from the rest.  We will discuss how big businesses in the United States are providing their employees with 50% more training in customer service than in any other area.  Active training is utilized in order to encourage class participation.  4 hour class.

Safety Training

  • OSHA Hazardous Communication Course
    This awareness level course provides employees with the knowledge of how to recognize hazardous materials and how to access information from a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).  Students will review federal laws pertaining to OSHA Standard CFR 29.  Students will learn how an ordinary spill differs from a hazardous emergency spill and how to handle both.  Students will receive a certificate of course completion.  3 hour course.
    Cost: $600 per course
     

  • Fire and General Office Safety Course
    This training program will review the hazards around the office that could cause fires, personnel injuries and hazardous environments.  We will review fire behavior and ignition sources and discuss how employees can reduce the risk of personnel injuries within the work area.  Students will learn to recognize possible workplace hazards and how to isolate and evacuate personnel. 2 hour course.
    Cost: $250 per course

     

  • Sexual Harassment and Hostile Work Environment Course
    Students will learn about the State and Federal laws that govern sexual harassment and hostile work environment.  Employers and employees will learn how to handle a complaint and how an investigation should be conducted to avoid lawsuits.  Workplace violence will be discussed and methods on how employers can safe guard their employees will be reviewed.  Students will receive a certificate of course completion. 4 hour course.
    Cost: $500 per course
     

  • Water Safety and Victim Rescue Course
    This course brings awareness of water safety to employees that may work near or around pools and open water.  We will review rescue equipment found at public pools, how to recognize distress in people in the water and most effective method to rescue that victim.  This course does consist of classroom training and training in a pool. Students will receive a certificate of course completion. 3 hour course.
    Cost: $500 per course
